APPEAL: Can you invest in the future of mission to the Arab world?

Have you ever considered that short-term mission was originally God’s idea? Luke 9 records Jesus preparing His disciples for their first ever mission trip. This was an essential step in getting them ready for the long-term, life of mission that awaited them.

After three years of journeying with them, the disciples received a clear call to take part in the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20). But first, Jesus knew the importance of thorough, practical preparation out on the mission field.

This can include working with couples like Rob* and Helen* as they disciple local believers in North Africa, or with Adam* and Heather* who are ministering to Syrian refugees in the Middle East.

Furthermore, your support enables our mission mobilisers to make the most of summer events to share the mission needs and opportunities of today in relevant ways. Our staff are travelling across the United Kingdom and Ireland to conferences, festivals, camps and special events to connect with individuals and churches where God is stirring hearts for mission.

My wife and I feel called to the Middle East. Firstly, to learn the language and then to be part of discipling local believers. We have heard a bit about AWM-Pioneers and are interested in knowing more about the process, and how you would support us on the field.

God is prompting hearts for His service and it is a privilege to help people explore their calling. But we cannot do this without you. You help us to be part of mentoring people on their mission journey, from initial enquiry to full debrief. Every step is essential as we identify gifts, provide cross-cultural training and offer ongoing support. We believe in short-term mission with a long-term vision, just as Jesus did.
