This is a landmark year in the history of the mission. We as a mission family have continued to press into God’s purposes for us and have some exciting news to share. We’re very pleased to announce that on 1 July 2024, AWM-Pioneers and Pioneers UK formally and legally joined together for the sake of the gospel. Our new legal name is Pioneers Arab World Ministries UK and Ireland, but as that’s quite a mouthful, we’re happy simply to be called Pioneers or, in the case of our continued work in the Arab world, Pioneers Arab World.
Our two missions have partnered together as sister organisations since AWM-Pioneers joined the Pioneers International mission family in 2011. However, a fresh momentum arose in the summer of 2020 when both Stephen Carling, Director of Pioneers UK, and I, (Phil Elam, Director of AWM-Pioneers), felt a stirring from the Lord during a season of 40 days of prayer across the Pioneers movement. The vision to pursue full integration – a merger of two equals. Fast-forward four years and the two historic missions have now been brought together to make Christ known among the nations.
Together, we will continue to recognise the ongoing call to pioneer together among the unreached, while also honouring the unique stories and experiences of decades of faithful service in the Arab world, in Africa and among unreached people groups across the world.
If this news brings to mind any questions, we have provided FAQs which we hope will reassure you that the foundational and distinctive aspects of our mission will remain the same.
