Joining a global family
Together the couple realised the truth of Christ and made the decision to become followers of Jesus. They also resolved to raise their children in their new-found faith.
Abe was sure that he was the first in his tribe to ever follow Christ. He was excited to learn from Carl that many believers around the world had been praying for years for this unreached people group.
Bold in faith and witness
Despite the risks, Abe wanted to be publicly baptised in the open air. He shared boldly how God had called them to Himself and answered pointed questions about his faith, including:
‘Will you be faithful to the Lord even unto death?’
‘Yes.’ Abe answered unequivocally on behalf of his family (as is the cultural custom).
They celebrated with a handful of believers who gathered for the occasion, including one from another unreached tribe. These two ethnic groups are usually in conflict, but these two brothers are now united in Christ.
